Apple's iOS 19 Set to Be the Most Raw Release Yet: What Users Can Expect
According to a recent report by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple has decided to delay many of the new features in iOS 19 until its release as version 19.4 next spring (2026). The operating system itself will be unveiled in June 2025.
This move is not entirely new for Apple's iOS releases. For instance, when iOS 18 was first launched, none of the promised features from Apple Intelligence were available. Instead, they started to roll out with subsequent updates, such as iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2 beta.
However, all the announced features will only become accessible to users of compatible devices after the release of iOS 18.4 in the spring.
The reason behind this strategy lies in Apple's efforts to develop a new language model for Siri in iOS 19, which is designed to process tasks more similarly to ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Unfortunately, this feature will not be available until a couple of months before the presentation of iOS 20.
